Mother Nature
Wow last night/early this morning 6 tornados crossed central florida from west to east. 14 people were killed and 500 homes destroyed. Honestly I've been near more tornados here than I ever did up north. I was so sick last night, I didnt wake up more than a couple times for some super big thunder booms.
Imagine if your sleeping peacefully, next to your lover, the kids in the next room, your dreaming about what you have to do tomorrow. Then suddenly you wake with a start. You hear this deafening noise, the house starts shaking, the kids are screaming. You run to get them. They're crying, "Mommy! Whats going on?" You say, "Come on kids, we need to hide in the bathroom." They ask, "Wheres daddy?" You dont answer. He went to grab the emergency radio. You are hiding in the bathroom. The pictures fall of the wall and crash onto the floor. The bathroom wall leans and falls over, you all scream. Your trapped in the bathroom now. You remember you left Spot outside. You hear a yelp, you know he's gone. You wonder where your husband is. The storm seems almost over. You wait a few minutes. Things stop shaking. It's silent now. You call out for your husband. No response. You try the door, its stuck. The kids are crying. You have to wait for help to come, if it ever does. You say to your kids, "Shhh it's ok. It's ok." You don't know if it actually is ok. Reassuring them seems to reassure you too. You fall asleep after ahile. You wake up to someone yelling, "Is there anyone in there?!" "Yes!" you yell, "We're in here!" Finally you are rescued. How long has it been? Where is your husband? Yet, you know the answer, even without hearing it. He's dead. He's not coming back. Mother Nature took him.
This just in- the death tolls have risen to 19 dead and 3 of them were students... two teenagers and child. Its astonishing how much damage a storm can do. The worst part is that there's nothing we can do when Mother Nature attacks. We are in her control and at her mercy.
